After more than half a month of full-scale repairs, the rescue operation at the junction of Qianjiang and Liyang on the national highway 319, which collapsed on December 7, entered the final stage, and it is expected to resume half traffic on the 25th.
On the afternoon of December 23, the reporter saw at the junction of Qianjiang and Liyang on National Highway 319 that the collapsed area caused by the collapse of the roadbed had completed 90% of the backfilling work. The slope near the collapsed area also completed the fortifications. With the restoration of the foundation piles, the entire pavement has preliminary half-pass conditions.
Since the side of the collapsed section is close to the Apon River, after the completion of the backfill operation, the highway department will organize forces to observe and maintain the backfill area. Next, the highway department will work with the public security traffic patrol police to implement a half-pass on the section of the national highway 319 from Qianjiang to Liyang. At the same time, additional staff and warning signs will be added to ensure driving safety.
According to Yang Yixuan, a staff member of the Production Technology Division of the Qianjiang Highway Bureau, the geological conditions in the backfill area have just stabilized, and a maintenance period of about 30 days is required to ensure the stability of the roadbed. After the half-passage is resumed, passenger cars and minivans with less than 19 seats can pass through the section, and passenger cars with more than 19 seats and medium and larger trucks need to wait for the backfill area to stabilize completely before they can pass.
